Turbulence Training: Hype for the hopeless, or Help to be healthy?

When was the last time that you were watching TV and saw an ad for a product promising to help you lose weight and get in shape? Wait, here is a better question…when was the last time you were watching TV and DIDN’T see an ad for a product promising to help you lose weight and get in shape? Obesity is certainly a problem, and there are more than enough companies standing in line to try to get your money for the product that they say is your ANSWER to losing weight and getting in shape. In fact, consumers spend tens of BILLIONS of dollars each and every year on products designed to help them lose weight and achieve the body of their dreams. Unfortunately, many of these folks never achieve their dream. Sometimes the promises fall short and the product simply doesn’t work, or perhaps the people themselves refuse to continue with the program. Either way, most who try to lose weight and get in shape fail.

Just recently, I have been seeing ads for a new program online called TURBULENCE TRAINING. This is an ebook, mind you, not a pill, potion, or piece of exercise equipment. You may ask yourself, “How can an ebook help me lose weight?” Well, I though the same things. Checking out the website at www.TurbulenceTraining.com, you are faced with a pretty slick sales letter that begins to hit you with myths about weight loss and what the REAL story is. The fact is, the info provided here is not bad, and the myths shown help dispel rumors that exist around losing fat and gaining muscle, so while the site certainly wants to take you through the process leading to buying the product, the info provided is actually fairly helpful. Anytime I feel like I am being sold, my radar goes off however.

All good products have their “guru’ if you will, or the expert who is supposed to have all the answers to all the problems in your life. Most of these so called experts are just pitchmen who would sell anything for the right price. Of those that actually created the products, most of them did so to make money, not to solve problems. This approach is completely evident if you look at the tactics and language used to sell the product. Turbulence Training features its own resident expert as the product was authored by Craig Ballantyne who is featured shirtless on the homepage. Yep, he is ripped all right…but, is he just a model? Who is Craig Ballantyne?

Turbulence Training 2Turns out, Craig Ballantyne may just be a guru worth listening to. I did a quick search on the internet to find out a little more about Craig, and I was duly impressed to be sure. Craig is a strength and conditioning coach out of  Toronto, Canada and while his physique certainly shows that he knows what he is doing, his affiliations show that others respect what he says. Craig is a featured contributor to Men’s Health magazine, one of the largest and most respected publications that exists. In addition, he also regularly writes for Bodybuilding.com which is one of the main sources on the internet for information about health and fitness. Craig doesn’t stop there as he is also a member of the training advisory board for Oxygen and Maximum Fitness magazines…his credentials are top notch. While the author seems to know a little about the subject, the proof is really in the pudding. Does Turbulence Training really do what it claims?

First of all, the product Turbulence Training claims to show you how to lose all the weight you want and get in incredible shape by doing just 3 workouts per week. It also promises that you can lose weight and gain muscle with “minimal cardio.” Jumping further down the page, you will see that once you order, you will get access to several other bonus ebooks as well furthering the value proposition. Ok, down to the nitty gritty…what is in this program, and DOES IT WORK?

Here is my honest answer: It works, MAYBE. Sound like an unfair answer? Well, here is why I say this. The information provided in Turbulence Training is sound. The advice is great. The one variable that exists with this type of product is YOU. If you ordered some type of weight loss pill, and took it based on the directions provided, you would ether lose weight, or you wouldn’t. If you did, it worked, if you didn’t, well you get the idea. The thing is, Turbulence Training doesn’t actually DO anything. What it IS is an informative and comprehensive collection of material that will provide you will all the information necessary for you to lose weight and gain muscle. No matter your level of fitness or understanding of exercises principles, this program is COMPREHENSIVE. When I say comprehensive, I mean it. The main Turbulence Training ebook is 76 pages long and gives you every bit of info needed for you to develop and enact workouts that will help you lose weight. As I said, the variable is YOU. All the information in the world will not help you get off your butt and do the work. I guess this one fact COULD be viewed as a negative for some.

Some people will read the claims and promises made on the site and somehow believe that by ordering Maximum Turbulence that it will change their life and they will magically get into shape. This is the same mentality that causes folks to order all kinds of exercise apparatus off late night TV. Then, months later, that same piece of equipment is sitting in the corner collecting dust. Sometimes, it is not even taken out of the box.  One aspect of this program that may help some achieve success with this program versus others is the fact that Craig includes a contract for you to sign within the ebook. This is not a contract between you and he, mind you, this is really a contract to YOURSELF. Craig asks you to commit to the program and follow the plans included step by step and really work the program. This may seem like a little thing to some, but the fact is, actually committing to something by signing this contract has shown to be an effective motivator. Any time you write down goals, you will be more likely to achieve them.

The Turbulence Training ebook itself is set up fairly logical. One complaint that I have is how it start off. The book features pages of Q and A’s that, for me anyways, became a bit tiresome. While some of the content was valuable, other questions were very elementary and hinted a bit of “filler” material. For instance, “Will the workouts help me turn fat into muscle?” If there are still some folks that believe fat can actually change into muscle, they may also believe that copper can be spun into gold. Most of the Q and A’s do offer some insight, but I feel that this info could have been included throughout the ebook in more engaging ways.

As you move through the ebook, it does deliver on its promise of content. One thing that may be unsettling to some is the absence of any real cardio programs. Losing fat WITHOUT doing cardio? Fact is, some folks just won’t buy it. Lifting weight turns you into a musclehead, right? Not always. Lifting weight and building muscle is a fantastic way to burn fat and this point is made clear throughout the Turbulence Training program. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn, not to mention the actual exercises themselves actually burn tremendous amounts of fat. The way to make this type of program really work for you is in the combination of the exercises you perform and the DIET you follow. Many people who lift weights eat tremendous amounts of calories. You certainly want to increase your calorie intake to support muscle growth, but overeating leads to increase fat gain as well. In addition, if you are looking for that lean, ripped look, you won’t need to eat as much as someone who is looking for that bodybuilder physique. This info and these principles are contained in Turbulence Training ebook to help keep you on the track you are looking for.

One of the other aspects of  Turbulence Training is all the additional ebooks and bonuses you receive when you order. I have to admit I was a little surprised by the content that was delivered I received quite a bit MORE than was advertised on the site. A nice surprise indeed. I guess the only problem was getting through all the info…it is A LOT. There are specific ebooks just focusing on your abs, an ebook that includes an 8 week program for developing an athlete’s physique and more. The program even includes three personal interviews with Craig Ballantyne himself.  The phrase “Under promise and over deliver” seems to apply here.

The real bottom line here is that for the price of this program, $39.95, you get an incredible amount of information. There is no question that if put into place, the information contained in Turbulence Training will certainly get you into shape. The key component for this program to work is YOU. Considering that Turbulence Training allows you to try out the program for only $4.95 AND includes a 100% money back guarantee, it seems clear that Craig Ballantyne has put together a program that is worth many times the price he is charging. I highly suggest that you at least give their website a look, which you can visit here:  www.TurbulenceTraining.com

A Great Fat Loss Workout for You

Exercise & Weight Loss 2 Comments »

If you are looking for that ultimate fat loss workout then you may want to read this article with rapt attention. You will definitely agree that you never knew when you were putting on the fat and one fine day realized that you are out of shape. This is what generally happens with most people suffering from obesity related issues.

The silver lining is that a good fat loss workout can definitely help you bust the ring of fat surrounding you. But that is only true when you are dedicated to the cause and do not find excuses to excuse yourself from working out.

The workout that I will be suggesting is based on a simple approach and involves exercises that will affect the muscles, rejuvenate the nervous system and enhance metabolism.

You need to start working off with warm ups to get your body ready for what is to follow. This is important because in the eagerness to work out you do not want to be injuring yourself, which may happen if the taut muscles are not flexed a bit. This is particularly true for chest and leg muscles.

So you may want to do two rounds of about ten repetitions each with light weights for side raises, bicep curls and shoulder presses. This should be the best warm-up before you start the fat loss workout.

Your objective should be to do about ten repetitions of two exercises, one after the other followed by a break which should be no more than a minute. You should look to follow this routine for a period of about twenty minutes. Do these with uniform weights or resistance till you see that your body is tiring.

If your body is tiring too quickly then you may start of with a lighter weight the next time around. As you gain stamina you will be able to increase the weight gradually. A point to note here would be that your actual workout weights should not be a lot heavier than what you used for warming up.

Now lets move on to the exercises. You have to combine the use of a Swiss ball and dumbbells for these exercises. Lie back on the Swiss ball and face the ceiling. Then gently repeat a movement of arms, loaded with the dumbbells, across your chest. In doing so you must keep your balance and posture intact. Also hold the hips high and the body straight for best results in this fat loss workout.

The next exercise will be one using only the Swiss ball. What you need to do is place your feet on the Swiss ball and face the floor. Support your body with the arms and gently begin the normal push-up routine. Continue this set with moderate speed and without much fluctuation in tempo and intensity. If you are a beginner then you may want to have added support in the form of a smaller Swiss ball under your chest.

Other than what has been discussed, you can also try out fat loss programs such as Turbulence Training. It is one of the better programs commercially available and guides you on every aspect of your training regimen. So if you want to go ahead and spend some cash for a professionally designed fat loss workout, you may want to give Turbulence Training a go.

Muscle Building & Fat Loss

Exercise & Weight Loss No Comments »

Wouldn’t you just love to flaunt that perfectly toned and chiseled body at the beach the next time you are going for a holiday? With some useful tips on muscle building and fat loss you can actually transform ‘flab into fab’ within very quick time. Just read on if you are interested to know what those tips might be.

The main attractiveness of a toned body lies in the fact that there is a very low body fat percentage. And in addition to that there is the eye-catching muscle mass all over. If you have always idolized bodybuilders for their physique, then do not for one moment think that they achieved such imposing structures overnight. They did so with lots of hard work and dedication and maybe they even stuck to the following tips!

Firstly you must remember that there are no short-cuts for muscle building and fat loss. So just do not blindly rely on some fancy bodybuilding supplements. Supplements are helpful only if your weight loss and training regimen is optimal. You should think about taking supplements only if your training program can accommodate them.

Also contrary to the popular belief that muscles grow when you are working out, you will be surprised to know that muscles are actually enhanced in your sleep! So if you are thinking about transferring an hour from the quota for sleep to that of exercise, then you may want to think again. If you deprive yourself of proper rest then all the time you that spend in the gym may be going down the drain. So just try to get yourself at least seven hours of sleep everyday.

Consuming protein rich food is another vital factor in muscle building and fat loss. This is because protein is the foundation on which muscles can be built. Also fat loss is facilitated because protein consumption increases the metabolism rate by a substantial degree. So you may want to cut down on carbohydrates and opt for protein rich food such as eggs, turkey and tuna. A healthy food habit along with regular exercise can very soon give you that dream body!

You may also want to select a good exercise regimen. It might be better if you straightaway start off with weight training exercises and not with cardio as is the popular notion. This is because weight training facilitates muscle building and fat loss at the same time while you lose muscle along with fat if you do cardio.

Finally you need to have a planned diet pattern. This means that you should try to have five or six small and balanced meals in a day as opposed to the conventional breakfast-lunch-dinner trio. This will help your body to maintain energy levels while keeping away the sudden pangs of hunger. A balanced meal refers to one that contains all essential nutrients in proportions that your body needs.

The choice of training program may ultimately be what makes or breaks your plans of muscle building and fat loss. So try to go for ones such as Turbulence Training.  It gives you a detailed insight into what, why and how to do. Turbulence Training is the complete guide if you are looking for one.

So go ahead and fulfill your dreams of muscle building and fat loss, now that you know how to!
